Twenty years ago this week, I stayed up for 72 hours and finished producing the first issue of a new neighborhood newspaper: Atlanta 30306, now Atlanta INtown. Then, I dropped off 10,000 copies at the post office and took a several-day nap before the phone started to ring with calls from appreciative neighbors.
This afternoon, the newspaper’s fourth owners host a celebration of the ever-positive publication at Murphy’s in Virginia-Highland. These days, you don’t have to hunt down a printed copy of the jam-packed 20th anniversary edition, though the paper version is still popular. You can view it online here.
