Jake stepped off the elevator onto the fourth floor of the Blue Goose and saw David waiting.
“I wanted to let you know I called both sisters and they don’t have the tapes. Don’t remember ever having them.”
“Well I don’t know why Jake, I gave them to Emma Kate …”
“I know, David, but apparently no one has them, so I came here to tell you something. I’m writing the book, the way I remember your mother telling it.”
“How can you?”
“She still talks to me. Says I can write it like she told it before she died.”
