Atlanta honors legacy businesses with funding and public registry

by katem

Atlanta officially launched a Legacy Business Program to support small local businesses that have been operating for 30 years or more. The program comprises three main components: reimbursing businesses up to $5,000 for expenses such as marketing and technology improvements, providing small business improvement grants of up to $50,000 for companies located in tax allocation districts and establishing an Atlanta Legacy Business Registry, which will make it easier for consumers to locate legacy businesses.

According to Invest Atlanta, there are over 400 legacy small businesses in Atlanta, employing more than 11,000 people and generating over $3 billion in revenue annually.
