Though in his 60s, Shin Urano, president and CEO of KBD Group, isn’t thinking about retirement, but running. Since 2009, Shin has run various races, including Atlanta’s Peachtree Road Race.
However, running wasn’t always easy. His first attempts were painful, and finishing races required training and hard work. “Like marathons, construction projects take determination, effort and readjustment,” says Shin. This will prove true for KBD Group as they prepare to expand a local foodservice company’s facility to 174,000 square feet by 2016.
Another similarity between the two? After finishing every race or construction project, Shin celebrates with an ice-cold beer.
