Business Insider recently revealed the most common mistake made during tech job interviews and on resumes: exaggerating technical skills. Some developers, programmers, coders and IT personnel will insert trendy skills on resumes in hopes they will be seen – but not inquired about.
However, including buzzword skills with which you’re unfamiliar, or even that you desperately need to brush up on, is only going to hurt your reputation.
Rather than holding your breath that your interviewer bypasses questions about your skills, take advantage of free online classes and be honest that you only know the basics, but are a quick learner.
