Recently I wrote about Airbnb’s phenomenal growth. Now the hotel industry is fighting back in an effort to “maintain a level and regulated playing field.”
According to Fortune, the hotel industry is taking on Airbnb in a number of ways, including research into “illegal” hotels, developing new chains aimed at millennials, and lobbying for laws to slow the home-sharing company’s growth.
Hilton and Marriott are expanding its brands, but Airbnb has over 1.5 million listings across the globe and counting. Who will come out on top? “For us to succeed, no one has to lose,” says Airbnb.
