Kirkwood, located in east Atlanta, has come a long way since its early beginnings. Incorporated in 1899, the area began as an early streetcar suburb before middle class residents began calling it home in the 1970s. The years in between brought the neighborhood many struggles, including urban decline and crime.
Now, Kirkwood is quite trendy and features beautifully restored bungalows that you can always count on for holiday décor. Even better? The restaurants. Choose from Le Petit Marche, The Spotted Trotter, Sun in my Belly and more.
If you’re looking for a diverse neighborhood with rich history, check out Kirkwood.
