Neighbors of the now demolished Forrest Heights Apartments in Decatur expressed their gratitude last month as award-winning Atlanta developer Columbia Residential broke ground on its latest community, Forrest Heights Senior Residences.
The new community, located at 1004 Columbia Ave., is designed to architecturally complement the homes of neighbors, who were glad to see the former apartment community and its troubled past replaced with a quality EarthCraft-certified senior development. The 70 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom apartment community will have affordable options at several income levels, allowing for a diverse community through Columbia’s partnership with the Housing Authority of DeKalb County.
