Last month, Governor Brian Kemp signed a new voting law, with several key points raising concerns about voter restrictions. The law has faced immense backlash from Georgia-based corporations, the MLB All-Star Game, film productions and many more.
In response, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issued an Administrative Order directing the City’s Chief Equity Officer to implement a series of actions to diminish the law and expand access and opportunity to the ballot box. This will include training staff members on voter registration, providing information on voting using citywide materials and coordinating with local business leaders to craft Public Service Announcements.
