New year, new boundaries

new boundaries

We all enter a new year with high hopes and fresh perspectives.

For me, I’ve been back at it with serious determination – knocking out lingering items from 2019 and working on planning for 2020, while enforcing new personal and professional boundaries this year. It’s tough. I find I’m making excuses and bending constantly without people thinking about how their actions impact me.

To counteract, I’m shifting how I go about things: not overcommitting, speaking up about issues, stopping work sooner when payments are behind, retaining my value and, when it doesn’t feel right, walking. How are you protecting your boundaries?
