“Mind over matter,” I thought as I moved forward for my turn. Psyching myself up every step closer. I’ve got this, I repeated. Surprisingly, as fresh burning coals were added and tapped into the path ahead, my nerves didn’t take over. Another testament to just how far I’ve come.
This was different. If I do this, I can do anything! As my feet hit the ground and the initial heat stung the bottoms, I was reminded of the fires I navigate and the courage it takes to get to the other side.
Folks, you’ve got a firewalker on your hands.
