Prevented by the pandemic from traveling or socializing, neighbors on a circle of 24 homes in Atlanta’s Springlake neighborhood began gathering distantly in a driveway in March 2020. They just celebrated the anniversary of the parties.
While neighbors were friendly, their previous gatherings were limited to an annual meeting and holiday party. Stuck at home, every Friday afternoon they dragged camping chairs and cocktails and bonded by sharing tips on coping with working at home, online educating of children, vaccination locations and takeout options (Tacos and margaritas at Tuza Taco got rave reviews).
One home is for sale on Springlake Lane.
