Atlanta’s I-285 for pedestrians: A BeltLine update

BeltLine update

Since construction initially began, the BeltLine has been expanding with restaurants, bars and more popping up along each section, and shows no signs of stopping. So, what’s up next?

Not only are lights scheduled to be installed along the Eastside BeltLine (finally), but construction has begun on the Southside Trail-West. The portion now being worked on will extend the existing Westside Trail south and east to connect to four new developments – Pittsburgh Yards, Murphy Crossing, the Met and Lee + White.

This new development is expected to take 12 months and will include a paved path, lighting and security cameras.
