What’s unique or outstanding about the Mitsubishi Outlander? Not much. And that’s what makes it great.
It has good handling, a V6 with a kick, towing power, plenty of cargo space, reasonable comfort and a good standard stereo. It’s also the second cheapest 3-row SUV behind the Dodge Journey, but gets two more MPG (20/27). From the outside, it just manages a nice, semi-luxe look.
Like a bottle of Two Buck Chuck, a Budweiser, or a Chipotle burrito, it’s nondescript, cheap and pretty good. If you’re looking for an inexpensive hauler, the Outlander will do just fine.
