Finally: a communion where I don’t have to drink bad wine and eat stale crackers. Kevin Gillespie opened Communion, a German beer garden, last Friday in Decatur.
The garden features horseshoes, corn hole games and a food truck serving German beer garden snacks like grilled rye, sausages and Bavarian-style pretzels. Guests will purchase tokens to buy food and drinks, including wine and cocktails, with gratuity factored into the price.
Communion sits in the backyard of Revival, which has served family-style portions of Southern food since 2015 in a historic house. Communion will be open Thursday-Sundays, weather permitting.
