I was a skeptic on the importance of stemware shape until I attended a Riedel seminar several years ago that shocked my senses. Put a red Burgundy in the wrong glass, and you may be met with rough, overly aggressive mineral notes, while a Napa Cabernet is completely harmonious in the same glass!
