Snapchat is now a powerful tool for unsigned musical artists. Since 2020, artists and creators have uploaded their music on Snapchat through DistroKid, resulting in over 2.7 billion videos uploaded with sounds.
With the app’s rise of unsigned musical artists, Snapchat introduced the Sounds Creator Fund. The new grant program supports independent artists living in the U.S. and helps spread their music globally. By opting into the fund, artists could be signed to Snap’s music label and publisher partners, including Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Publishing.
