Georgia’s poet laureate, Chelsea Rathburn, and the Georgia Council for the Arts have announced the 11th Annual Poet Laureate’s Prize winners. This year, over 300 high school students submitted poems, an increase of more than 100 submissions over the previous year!

Grayson Jones won with “Pennies,” while finalists Muriel Chan, Samanyu Ganesh, Quinn Kelsey and Autumn Martin also impressed with their works. Poems by the winner and each finalist are published on Atlanta Magazine’s website.

Finalists enjoyed a special poetry reading at the State Capitol and met Gov. Brian Kemp. The 2025 competition details will be available later this year.
