“Streaming” music is a phrase that’s been around for a while, yet the concept is still unclear to many consumers. The large number of music providers out there often add up to confusing noise rather than a valuable musical revolution.
Pandora and other similar internet radio services allow users to create customized “stations” based on an artist, mood or activity, while “on-demand” services like Spotify are more comparable to Netflix than radio and offer – as a new Sonos ad states – “every song, that ever mattered, to anyone.”
How we find, access and share music is changing, and it matters.
