Nestled in Macon’s museum district, the Tubman Museum shines as a celebration of African American art, history and culture.
A short road trip from Atlanta, this 49,500-square-foot space features vibrant exhibits, including the Inventors’ Gallery, honoring Black creativity, and the “I Dream a World” portrait series showcasing inspiring women. Visitors can join quilting workshops, drumming classes and rotating exhibits, like pieces from Tyler Perry, while exploring stories of resilience and identity.
Since opening its expanded facility in 2015, the Tubman Museum has served as a hub for learning and connection. A soulful, meaningful day trip, it’s well worth the drive.
