Historic Atlanta seeks citizen input on LGBTQ+ sites

by The 100 Companies

While Atlanta has done a good job of preserving historic sites, one area that remains neglected in the city’s historical narrative is the LGBTQ+ community. To address this, Historic Atlanta has established the LGBTQ+ Historic Preservation Advisory Committee to raise awareness and champion the preservation of locations that are of historical importance to the LGBTQ+ community and in danger of being lost.

To best do so, the nonprofit has asked for public input, sending out a request for citizens to “fill in the details of the city’s LGBTQ+ history that might not otherwise be found in archives or general publications.”
