The birthplace of America’s favorite soda

by The 100 Companies

When craving an ice-cold glass of Coca-Cola, nowadays you can easily crack one open from the fridge, convenience store or vending machine. It’s hard to imagine that at one time the only way to get a Coca-Cola was by visiting Jacob’s Pharmacy. Located on the corner of Peachtree and Marietta Streets, Jacob’s Pharmacy sold the first glass of Coca-Cola for five cents in 1886.

Back then, a serving of Coca-Cola was made by dispensing the special syrup into a glass and adding cold carbonated water to finish the drink. Customers loved it and the love for America’s favorite soda was born.
