Lake Claire Land Trust

The Lake Claire Community Land Trust is a forward-thinking neighborhood green-space, offering more than 70 community garden beds and providing Atlantans with an urban oasis. In the 1980s, a group of progressive thinkers based in the neighborhood enclave off of Dekalb Avenue pooled together and purchased land directly from MARTA, starting the land trust as a non-profit.

In 2000, the community added co-housing and, in the last decade, launched a popular music festival called Peace and Love Festival. Today, it consists of 1.5 acres of urban green space, created by hundreds of volunteers contributing their time for over three decades.
