The Atlanta Opera moves outdoors

The Atlanta Opera recently announced the first part of its fall season will take place outdoors in an open-air tent. The “Molly Blank Big Tent Series” will be held in Oglethorpe University’s Hermance Stadium beginning Oct. 22 through Nov. 14.

Showcasing two productions performed in a circus-like environment, the configuration allows for social distancing and safety, with fresh air throughout the venue at all times and protection provided from the weather. Nine showings each of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” and Viktor Ullman’s “The Kaiser of Atlantis” will alternate nightly.

Tickets range from $149 to $399 for pods of up to four guests.
