More than 50 years of thrills at Six Flags Over Georgia

Six Flags Over Georgia

Six Flags Over Georgia became the largest regional theme park in the southeast when Angus Wynne, founder of Six Flags Over Texas, created his second theme park in 1967. Located off I-20 in west Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia has been one of Atlanta’s top attractions for over 50 years.

Six Flags began to thrill Atlantans by originally offering only 11 roller coasters. Dahlonega Mine Train, the oldest roller coaster in the park, was followed by the Great American Scream Machine and the Riddler Mindbender. Now with more than 40 rides and attractions, Six Flags added the thrill ride Pandemonium in 2019.
