Atlanta: ‘The City Too Busy To Hate’

Atlanta is no stranger to tragedies and setbacks. We have always had the ability to come together and rise above, despite our differences and any adversity we face.

In our recent history, nothing displays this spirit better than our response to the bombing during the 1996 Summer Olympics. The eyes of the world were on Atlanta as we hosted the Olympics, and our city was shaken when a bomb detonated at Centennial Olympic Park, killing two and injuring 111.

Despite the devastating attack, Atlanta rallied and let the Olympic games continue. We used the event as a symbol representing international unity.
