Puritan Mill’s Sudsy History

SPR Atlanta’s office is located at Puritan Mill and until recently I was unaware of the building’s long history.

The two buildings were constructed in 1921 to be the Atlanta-based headquarters for the Puritan Chemical Company. The company, known for creating Puritan soap and cleaning products, used the space to operate, manufacture and store its products until they were ready for shipment on the neighboring Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. In 2001, the buildings were converted into mixed-use space.

Last month, Origin Investments purchased ownership of Puritan Mill, creating a joint venture with existing owners, Urban Realty Partners.
