When Atlanta preservationists heard the iconic Randolph-Lucas House was set for demolition last fall, they scrambled to find the 1924 house a new home. The Buckhead Heritage Society offered the home free of charge with one catch: the new owner would have to move it.

The Georgia Trust is hosting two events to discuss the successful move. The 2014 Preservation Month Lecture Series will conclude May 29 with the homeowners discussing the history and hardships of moving the home. The owners will also lead a “Lunch and Learn” hardhat tour of the residence May 30. To purchase tickets, visit georgiatrust.org/news/events.
