Say hello to Atlanta area code 943

Feeling like there are more people in our city than in past years? You’re not the only one, and not wrong. In fact, Atlanta is becoming so populated that its current area codes are quickly running out of 10-digit combinations.

In response, Verizon recently sent customers a service message announcing a new area code – 943.

New area codes are rare, so many thought it was a scam. However, the North American Numbering Plan Administration, Georgia Public Service Commission and Verizon confirmed the news. The new area code should serve the needs of Atlantans in 15 cities for the next 10 years.
