My mother loved holidays and was well known for her themed menus laid out to a tee!
Weeks before any celebration, she would call and ask, “What do you want for (insert holiday here)?” I would giggle, play along because my sister and I knew it wouldn’t change. I quickly figured out the season, would roll through the recipe Rolodex of dishes in my mind and start throwing out ideas. Easter: deviled eggs, marinated carrots, green bean casserole with those awesome crunchies, baked pineapple and more.
I missed that conversation this year. The only holiday she didn’t plan? Mother’s Day!
