The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood producers on Oct. 16, putting a halt to a looming strike that would have shut down production on every TV show and movie currently filming in Georgia.
Representing members including camera operators, set designers, carpenters, hair and makeup artists, animators and more, the organization sought fair and safer working conditions – including longer rest and meal periods, better wages for all workers and a stop to excessive hours crews are forced to work daily, often 12-14 hours.
A strike was to begin at midnight on Monday, Oct. 18.
