When Sports Teams Get Snarky on Social Media

by The 100 Companies

All companies should have some sort of social media guidelines in place. What most companies don’t have to worry about is employees following your rules … but in the snarkiest way possible.

That’s what happened when the NBA sent a memo to its 30 teams about new rules preventing them from “mocking and/or ridiculing” each other on social media. The Sacremento Kings and Atlanta Hawks were definitely nice, but the sarcasm dripped through the lengthy exchange.

While these rules were meant to keep things cordial between teams, they also increased attention to the creative minds behind at least two teams.
