From the company formerly known as Snapchat comes a new pair of cool shades. Snap Inc. is releasing its first wearable technology in the form of sunglasses – Spectacles.
The shades will film 10-second clips of whatever the user is viewing in a 115-degree peripheral video, similar to a human’s natural field of vision.
The new glasses will give Google Glass a run for its money by providing an augmented reality experience for much cheaper – $130 versus Google’s $1,500. Spectacles’ appearance is also less threatening than Google’s. Glasses are expected to roll out this fall with limited distribution.
