Speaking this week to a PR conference about The Atlanta 100 – and how it fits into a 300-year historic continuum of American publishing – my accompanying slideshow started to go haywire.
Instead of advancing every 15 seconds to fit a five-minute Ignite format, slides unexpectedly advanced much quicker. I spoke faster – and faster.
Audience members put down their cell phones and focused on my podium pandemonium. Everyone cheered following my performance, wondering if I had planned it all along to capture attention. A tweet suggested I begin a new career as an auctioneer. Now our eNewsletter has hundreds of new readers.
