I love a good bargain and sometimes this gets me in trouble.
While in high school, I was at Peachtree Battle Shopping Center when a dude asked if I wanted a gorgeous Bulova Accutron. I was ecstatic to have bargained him all the way from $150 to $20. I showed it proudly to all my classmates until the cover fell off. An appraiser at Lenox Square put on his eyepiece, studied it a second, pointed out Accutron was misspelled and said skeptically, “I hope you didn’t pay more than $20 for this fake!”
“Nope,” I said, my pride still intact.
