“I got used in a very powerful way. That trip shifted my life.”
Cloyd spent 30 years in the construction business, but sitting at his desk in Atlanta last September, his mind kept drifting back to the desolate but happy families he had met in the previous eight years on mission trips to Central America and Africa.
So he “pushed all his chips to the center of the table,” joined Hope Ignited as full-time development director and never looked back.
These days, between trips overseas, he’s visiting former colleagues, urging them to skip that cup of coffee and donate three dollars to sponsor a student’s uniform or $3,000 to build a school.
