Redemption after failure in sports and business

by Chris Butsch

I enjoy sports, as they often provide lessons for management: how to organize teams and instill mission and focus to meet goals against unexpected competition. Sometimes sports provide metaphors for life.

Now that my Virginia Cavaliers have bounced back from epic defeat to win a national basketball championship one year later, perhaps I can marshal some hope that our Atlanta Falcons’ Super Bowl loss can also be redeemed.

Likewise, entrepreneurs must confront failure, overcome doubts and beat the odds before eventually succeeding. God has a plan, and we as mere humans must trust it will be revealed – in due time.
