Atlanta is set to fully embrace the future of transportation as Waymo and Uber prepare to launch their autonomous robotaxi service this summer.
Covering a 65-square-mile area, including Downtown, Buckhead and Capitol View, local riders will be able to hail Waymo’s fully driverless electric vehicles exclusively through the Uber app. The innovative service builds on a successful rollout in Austin, where Waymo robotaxis are now completing more trips per day than 99% of human drivers.
Atlanta residents can now join the “interest list” in the Uber app to increase their chances of being matched with a Waymo vehicle upon launch.
