Every summer for the past 27 years, the National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) has brought the artistry of the African diaspora from all over the world to the streets of Atlanta.
The 2015 season will focus on the history and global impact of African-inspired dance. A highlight in this year’s NBAF lineup is Step Afrika!, the world’s first professional dance company dedicated to stepping.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Step Afrika! presents a special performance of “Symphony in Step” at Center Stage August 29, featuring stepping and classical music performed by a local symphony orchestra and a gospel choir. Tickets: $20-$45.
