From Doctors Without Borders to providing Red Cross assistance, doctors are known for their nonprofit work that extends healthcare beyond offices. With the creation of a new educational website, Dr. Steve Cohen, an Atlanta doctor, hopes to help the 46 million U.S. citizens on Medicare.
Cohen’s site, www.MedicareDrugSavings.org, provides comprehensive videos, brochures, slideshows and other resources to help Medicare participants better choose a prescription drug plan from the 50 coverage plans that currently exist.
A 2012 study revealed that the average Medicare enrollee would save $368/year if the individual switched to a different plan that would cover the same medicines.
