After sign-off from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week, the latest round of COVID-19 vaccine shots have started to arrive at pharmacies nationwide.
After much speculation as to how COVID-19 vaccines would continue long-term, the fall update of the vaccine is now being treated like getting a yearly flu shot, with tweaks continually made to fight new coronavirus strain variants.
The new vaccine is available for adults and children as young as 6 months and targets the XBB.1.5 omicron variant and similar strains.
Vaccines are free to most through health insurance, Medicare and health departments.
