It’s that time of the year when everything in Georgia is covered in a light-yellow dusting of pollen. And before the height of spring arrives, take a few measures to protect yourself from potential allergy symptoms:
• Start treatment early. Taking over-the-counter antihistamines or nasal sprays at least two weeks before typical allergy symptoms appear is recommended.
• Begin spring cleaning. Deep clean your home to rid of dust, pollen and other allergens.
• Track pollen levels. When pollen levels are high, avoid opening windows and limit time outside.
• See a doctor for more extreme allergies.
