I’m all about avoiding people on planes, preferring my iPad for entertainment. But this seems a bit extreme.
The B-Tourist is a stretchy fabric you can loop around airline seatbacks and headrests to create your own open-air cocoon. Adjust the width with plastic rings and use the small side pocket to store snacks. Do your seatmates catapult themselves over you or do the limbo when they need to get out?
It’s not yet available for purchase but has been designed by Gal Bulka and Idan Noyberg. Until then, you could probably create a reasonable facsimile with a plus-sized tube top.
