The good news for travelers is that no one has to take their shoes off while going through TSA checkpoints any longer. This policy, enacted in 2006, was recently rescinded. Hopefully, it will speed up security lines.
Don’t expect changes to the 3.4-ounce liquid limitation, however. That policy seems here to stay for now, much to the distress of millions of travelers who have had their favorite products confiscated.
Having your photo taken at TSA for facial recognition technology screening is becoming more common, but you do not have to comply. Just politely inform the TSA agent you’d rather not.
