Travel tip: You’ve lost your passport or had it stolen overseas. Now what?

by The 100 Companies

If your passport is lost or stolen, you’ll need to head to a U.S. embassy or consulate, but don’t go empty-handed. Here is what you ‘ll need:

• one passport photo
• identification like a driver’s license
• evidence of U.S. citizenship, like a birth certificate or copy of your passport
• travel itinerary, with train or plane tickets
DS-64 statement for a lost or stolen passport (can be done online)
• DS-11 application for a passport

No one plans to lose their passport or have it stolen, but traveling with a driver’s license and copy of your passport will make replacement easier.
