Zoo Atlanta recently debuted its new, much-anticipated African Savanna exhibit featuring three areas designed specifically for the animals who live there.
The first phase offers the three elephants currently residing at the zoo a habitat triple the size of their previous home, with room for up to four more elephants to join. The space also includes a new mixed-species setting for zebras, giraffes and ostriches with upgraded warthog and meerkat habitats nearby.
Future project elements include Savanna Hall, a one-of-a-kind special event space in the former Cyclorama building, which will overlook the already incredible transformation.
