When I told my friends I was testing an Avalon this week, one question kept coming up: “Isn’t that for old people?”
Indeed, the stretched-out, softer Camry appeals to the geriatrics, but if you’re shopping for a luxury sedan, it’s worth considering. Though not a Lexus, the Avalon does a darn good impression of one – handsome looks, a plush ride, unnoticeable gear shifts, ample power, first-class rear legroom and more safety features than Cadillac One combine to form a faultless package. In hybrid form, the Avalon delivers 43mpg, too.
At ~$42k loaded, the Avalon is an underappreciated bargain.
