It’s been 10 years since I joined Facebook. I remember opening my account on a whim while living on St. George Island. I dove in, excited every time hearing the ding of a new friend request. It was amazing to me how instantly I got connected/reconnected without doing anything.
While I struggle at times with our cultural obsession with social media, lack of real connection and, lately, the negativity it has created due to our political differences, I absolutely love that I have been given the privilege and trust to peek into so many lives daily.
It’s an addiction.
