Am I the only one who didn’t know about Farm Chastain, an organic teaching farm in Chastain Park? My garden club met in the barn, a former WWII quonset hut, and toured the grounds, which included greenhouse, raised beds, pavilion and a pen holding Chuck, the resident goat, and his two rooster friends.
If you’re looking to improve your green thumb, you can take free monthly classes taught by master gardeners.
The property is also available to rent for events. The Farm is run by the Chastain Park Conservancy with funds coming from donations and Rock Chastain, an annual event.
