If the Camry is the frenetic, tech-savvy Millennial of the Toyota lineup, then the Avalon is the calm, taciturn Baby Boomer. More luxurious than most luxury cars, quieter than a monastery, and more comfortable than your favorite chair, the Avalon seems perfect for the aspiring retiree.
But what’s the difference between a “luxury Toyota” and a Lexus? Curiously, there seems to be nearly nothing separating the $34k Avalon from the $39k Lexus ES 350, save for the badge and a dealership with better coffee.
If I were 40 years older, I’d happily add the Avalon to my retirement plans.
